Commencing container operations in April 1999 by handling just couple of hundered containers per year, Ajman Port today handles in excess of 3000 TEUs per month and the volume projected for 2006 year end is 50,000 TEUs.

The initiatives taken by the management in inviting ship Owners to make direct calls into Ajman Port from the Sub-Continent and the Red Sea areas have borne fruit.
 
Further development of the container terminal and associated handling facilities are currently underway with focus on:
