DHL launches eMailShip service to streamline procedures

ONE of the leading express and logistics companies, DHL, has inaugurated a patented electronic service - DHL eMailShip - across 18 markets in Asia Pacific to help customers, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, to save time by streamlining shipment procedures.

A company statement said customers can now file shipment details electronically using DHL eMailShip - doing away with paper. The service allows air waybills and other paperwork to be prepared offline using the Adobe Acrobat PDF or Microsoft Excel format and submitted to DHL by email. Upon receipt of the completed forms, customers will receive an email confirmation with an air waybill number and declaration forms.

The new system also allows details entered in previous electronic forms to be re-used for subsequent shipments.

"Our aim is to make shipping smooth and cost-efficient for businesses. The introduction of DHL eMailShip is an example of innovative but simple value-added solutions to save time and," said Dan McHugh, CEO of DHL Express Asia Pacific.
