HONG KONG airline Dragonair has re-launched its scheduled service to Kathmandu. To mark the event, a ceremony was held at the Nepali capital's Tribhuvan International Airport where passengers on the first flight received a traditional souvenir and were greeted by Lakhe dancers.
The new service is connected to Dragonair's network as well as parent company, Cathay Pacific's global network, providing links to north Asia, Australia and North America.
Kathmandu is the sixth new destination added to the Dragonair network since the airline became a member of the Cathay Pacific group in 2006, said a Dragonair statement.
The Hong Kong-Kathmandu service is operated four times a week using an Airbus A320 on the following schedule.
Flight KA102 departs Hong Kong on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 1855 hrs and arrives in Kathmandu at 2205 hrs. Return flights, coded KA101, depart from Kathmandu on the same days at 2255 hrs and arrive the following day at Hong Kong at 0535+1 hrs.
Dragonair, an affiliate member of the global oneworld airline alliance, operates a fleet of 31 passenger aircraft and seven freighters, serving 34 regional destinations, including 21 cities in mainland China, the release added.
