Vladivostok box terminal sees January throughput rise 24pc

VLADIVOSTOK Container Terminal's Cargo turnover rose 24 per cent in January 2008 to 15,229 TEU.

Within this total, container export grew from 5,726 TEU to 6,303 TEU, an increase of 10 per cent year on year, reports www.dars.ru.

The import container trade swelled by 30 per cent to 5,193 TEU. Cabotage grew by 48 per cent from 2,517 TEU to 3,733 TEU.

In January, the ratio of loaded and empty containers totalled 49.45 per cent and 50.55 per cent, respectively.
