The Far East Freight Conference (FEFC), the Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement (CTSA) and Matson Line have issued further bunker and currency surcharge adjustments.

The FEFC has issued its last bunker and currency surcharge adjustments before the EU bans rate and surcharge setting shipping conference activities on October 17.

The FEFC has announced that its Far East-Europe rate will be US$766 per TEU and $38.30 per weight/measure for less-than-containerload shipments to and from the Mediterranean and West Coast European region from September 1 through October 17.

To and from the UK North continent, the BAF will be $13 higher per TEU and 65 cents higher per weight/measure for the low sulphur fuel surcharge. Currency adjustment factor will be 17.9 per cent for the same period.

At the same time, the Canada Transpacific Stabilisation Agreement (CTSA) has raised its fuel surcharge 18 per cent in a month from September 1, the group announced.

Member carriers, who move cargo between Canada and Asia, said fuel surcharges will go to US$1,192 per TEU, $1,490 per FEU, $1,676 per 40-foot high cube container and $1,886 per 45-foot container. By weight/measure, the fuel surcharge is $33.

CTSA's CAF will be 7 per cent from all origins, including Japan and China, down from 8 per cent last month.

Matson Navigation Company has announced that it is raising its fuel surcharge for its Hawaii service by four per cent, from 38.25 per cent to 42.25 per cent.

From August 1, its Guam and Micronesia service will be raised by four per cent as well from 39.75 per cent to 43.75 per cent.
