Yantian terminal, Sinotrans to cooperate

South China terminal operator Yantian International Container Terminals (YICT) has signed a cooperation agreement with Sinotrans Guangdong focusing on barge services and intermodal freight forwarding.

Under the agreement, YICT will offer favorable terms in both berth allocation and customs clearance coordination to one of Sinotrans Guangdong subsidiaries operating a startup Zhongshan/Yantian shuttle barge service. 

In addition, YICT will also entrust Sinotrans Guangdong, or other Sinotrans subsidiaries, with its container rail services so the two companies can jointly provide sea-rail and multimodal transportation services. Moreover, the two companies also agreed to work closer in providing freight forwarding and shipping agency services, consolidation, and on the planned construction of an inland port.
