Attractive products, attractive event
Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles 2007 has doubled in size over the past three years, now with 80,500 sqm of exhibition space. In 2006, 29,030 visitors from 15 countries and regions as well as from across China attended. The show highlights products including: bed, bath, table and kitchen linens; wall and window decorations; upholstery fabric and carpets; Interior design and textile handicrafts; home textile related products and services; and Home textile design.
The show has always been a global trading event but China’s domestic home textile demands are stimulating significant local interest. In the first nine months of 2006, home textile imports to China were up more than 15% over the same period in 2005. China’s population is earning more money and is eager to buy the latest home design trends, furnishings and fabrics. Buyers from facilities being built for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing and 2010 World Expo in Shanghai are also on the look for interior fabrics.
Highlights include focus on trends and design
The 2007 show will create a particular emphasis on design with two special features:
Designer's Studio
The Designer’s Studio is a zone dedicated to companies directly involved in the design process. Home textiles designers can show off their latest styles and ideas in this innovative section.
China International Home Textiles Design Competition 2007
Home textiles professionals and design students from around the world will be able to submit designs to a panel of judges including designers, industry experts and professors. The winning entries will be showcased in a special competition display zone throughout the fair.
