Baoshan Iron & Steel Logistics Park, one of the key projects in 20 modern service zones of Shanghai, held an opening ceremony, thus, a large-scale and multi-functional iron-steel service centre has initially been set up.
Xia Yu, deputy governor of Baoshan District said on the ceremony that speeding up adjustment of industrial structure, relying on regional advantages, and developing iron-steel service industry are the main directions to promote modern service industry of the district, while opening of the Park has enroll Baoshan’s iron-steel service industry on a new starting point. During the 11th “Five-year Plan” Period, Baoshan will try to develop modern service industry as a substitute for the traditional processing and warehousing industry.
Covering an area of 347 mu, the Park is one of the four industrial bases according to the Shanghai 11th “Five-year” Development Plan. The whole project is expected to be be finished by June 2009 with the first-phrase construction completed by now.
