India Post airfreight service has been launched at Guwahati Airport to serve the country's north east Manipur region, according to the Imphal Free Press.
Communications and IT minister A Raja, and the civil aviation minister, Praful Patel, officiated at the opening of the service that will deploy a Boeing 737-200, and will operate daily between Kolkata, Guwahati, Imphal, Agartala and Kolkata except Mondays.
An India Post statement said the freighter will facilitate delivery of mail, and products carried by Express Parcel Post, Logistic Post and other state customers as well as serving the business and trading communities.
