Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey intend to create a consortium within the frameworks of the Trans Asia-Europe Railway, for construction of the Caucasian portion of the project.
The parties discussed the project at a meeting of the Regional Commonwealth for Communications, held during a visit to Kazakhstan by Ali Abbasov, Azerbaijani Communications Minister. The parties at the session approved the idea of creation of the railway consortium.
