A NEW Sichuan and Hong Kong joint venture, Chengdu Southwest Shengjing Transportation Co, claims it will soon become the largest container trucking company in southwest China, Logistics Week reported.
The new company, jointly invested with CNY200 million (US$26.7 million) by Sichuan Shengjing Logistics Group and Hong Kong Longtemp Logistics Co, has established a highway freight centre.
The company is now operating a trucking service between Chengdu and Shanghai with 20 trucks, and 80 more will be added in three months, the report said.
The company also plans to purchase up to 1,000 trucks with CNY400 million and launch services from Chengdu to Guangzhou and Tianjin in the next two to three years, making it the largest container trucking company in southwest China, the report added.
