Miele and Schenker in Finland have just signed a contract on a logistics partnership. Schenker will be Miele’s new partner for logistics in Finland.

Effective 1st January 2008, the Miele spare parts activities will move to the Schenker premises in Helsinki. Schenker’s own parcel service Schenker Express will then deliver all Miele spare parts throughout the country.

In April 2008, Miele’s remaining warehousing activities, now still located in the city of Hanko, will move to Schenker’s multimodal logistics center at the port of Turku. The new Schenker complex is unique to Finland, linking the four carriers – truck, air, ship and rail – and serving at the same time as a distribution center. Schenker will continue as the national distributor of Miele’s products in Finland. Schenker also offers home
delivery service for Miele products.

Miele’s range of consumer appliances includes: vacuum cleaners; laundry systems; rotary irons; dishwashers; built-in convection, speed and steam ovens; cooktops; ventilation hoods; and coffee systems. In addition, Miele Professional offers commercial cleaning equipment such as laboratory glassware washers, industrial parts cleaning systems, dental disinfectors and commercial wet cleaning systems.
The Schenker services in Finland range from European and national land transport to global air and ocean freight through to contract logistics and supply chain management. About 1,800 staff are employed by Schenker in 19 locations throughout Finland where they provide services mainly to customers from industry and trade.and trade.
