Hainan starts work on new logistics centre

HAINAN province inaugurated the construction of the First Logistics Centre recently in the boundary area between Haikou city and Chengmai county, Xinhua reported.

The CNY189 million (US$25.50 million) 354,668-square metre logistics centre is expected to handle 1.8 million tons of cargo annually, the report said. It is to be a trading and processing centre of agricultural products, and a supporting project of the Southern Logistics Station of Yuehai Railway connecting Hainan with Guangdong provinces.
