SCHENKER and BAX Global have joined forces to become what they hope will be recognized as the leading provider of integrated logistics and global supply chain management in Malaysia.

Each company has a collective experience of logistics in the Malaysian market of some 50 years. Their new organisation will trade under the name Schenker Logistics and offer an enhanced range of integrated services in air, ocean freight and land transport.

With 10 locations throughout the country, over one million square feet of warehousing space, and 1,200 employees, the joint organisation of Schenker and BAX Global in Malaysia will include supply chain management, customs clearances, IT solutions and services for overseas fairs and sports events.

Said SL chief executive Wolfgang Laabs: "Our combined strengths and expertise positions us very well to serve businesses across a wide spectrum of vertical markets, and even enhances our strongholds in the automotive, high-tech, electronics and aero parts sectors."

Jointly, Schenker and BAX hold the number one spot for European land transportation, second for global airfreight, third for ocean freight, third for North American integrated heavy freight and sixth for global contract logistics.
