GEODIS Logistics is opening its new environmentally sensitive warehouse at Chaponnay, near Lyon, to manage freight flows that will comply with the company's "sustainable development" policy.
Built on 60,000 square metres in the industrial zone, 25 kilometres south east of Lyon, the warehouse has a surface area of 28,000 square metres including a 3,000 square-metre customs depot and employs 65. It has a storage capacity for 22,000 palettes with a transit capacity for 200,000 palettes a year.
