Delegates to the 88th Convention of the South Atlantic and Gulf Coast District, International Longshoremen's Association unanimously passed a resolution calling on the union to support members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) in their negotiations with the Pacific Maritime Association.
The ILA represents dockworkers on the East and Gulf coasts as well as the Great Lakes, while the ILWU represents workers on the West Coast.
No matter what happens down the road, the ILA firmly stands behind the ILWU, said ILA President Richard Hughes.
