Cargo 2000 is increasing its presence in China following the decision of Tianjin AirCargo Terminal (TAT) to join its air cargo quality improvement program.

TAT says joining Cargo 2000 will further support its close customer relationships through enhanced monitoring and reporting of each customer's specific shipments and the ability to increase the reliability of freight movements.

Ulrich Hüsson, Managing Director of TAT, said: “With proper measurement, we are able to identify service improvement opportunities, streamline our processes and make our operation more efficient. We are making an investment to provide the correct levels of service at the beginning of each shipment delivery because, as a result, we will spend much less having to rectify mistakes and, most importantly, have satisfied customers.

“In the longer term, we expect Cargo 2000 to help us bring in more business when its brand name is more recognised by the shipping public for its ability to produce cost reduction opportunities and more efficient operations due to the implementation of standardized business processes. By becoming the first Cargo 2000 cargo terminal provider in Northern China, we are confirming our goal to become the number one air cargo handling solution in North China.”

TAT’s shareholders are Hwa-Hsia International Holding, Lufthansa Cargo and Tianjin Airport International Logistics Joint Stock Co. It operates from a brand new 22,000 square meter cargo centre in the Free Zone at Tianjin Binhai International Airport.
