THE Chongqing-based Minsheng Company has started a feeder service from Chongqing to Shanghai.
The maiden voyage of the feeder service was undertaken by the Min Wen, which departed Cuntan port in Chongqing and arrived in Shanghai after about six days of sailing.
According to Xinhua, the river service has a fixed port rotation, schedule, sailing times and deploys dedicated vessels.
In addition to Minsheng, four other shipping companies, including Pacific Basin, Cosco Chongqing, Sinotrans Chongqing and China CSC also provide this type of fixed service between Chongqing and Shanghai. Together they operate 10 voyages a week or 520 a year on the route.
