SUPPLY chain services provider Arshhiya Technologies plans to invest INR35 billion (US$864.4 million) to develop a container freight station and logistics park at Jawaharlal Nehru Port, after winning approval of India's Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
The 41-acre container freight station will be designed to handle import and export cargo.
"This is our first venture into the infrastructure assets sector and going forward we are looking at investing more in container freight stations and other strategic assets to support the supply chain sector," said Ajay Mittal, managing director of Arshhiya, in a Press Trust of India report.
The logistics park will be equipped with a warehouse, container storage area and refurbishing yard.
