CHILEAN carrier CCNI has started a China-Chennai container service, called the North China Chennai Service (NCCS) which calls at ports in China, southeast Asia and Chennai in India.
The NCCS also acts as a relay service to connect Chennai with other Asian ports served en route to the west coast of South America, west coast of Central America and Mexico, using the company's CEX and NAX services, operated jointly with Hamburg-Sud, reports AXS-Alphaliner News.
The NCCS has been created by buying slots from Sea Consortium on the new NCC service recently launched by Wan Hai Lines, Cheng Lie and Sea Consortium. This service uses four 1,700-TEU vessels.
The port rotation for the NCC service is: Qingdao, Lianyungang, Shanghai, Singapore, Port Kelang, Chennai, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong and Qingdao, the report added.
