Neptune Orient Lines, parent company of container carrier APL, said Monday it carried the equivalent of 289,400 40-foot containers (FEUs) in the six-week period ending Feb. 8, up 17 percent from the year earlier six-week period.
Rates were also higher, an average of $2,989 per FEU, also 17 percent higher than the average of last year.
The period's performance reflected the continued strong container demand growth and rate improvements, the Singapore-based company said.
