MacGREGOR to provide cranes for SE Shipping heavy-lift vessels

MacGREGOR will supply 450-ton capacity cranes for four new ships being constructed for Singapore-based SE Shipping, the company said Friday.

MacGREGOR, a business unit of Cargotec, will provide the cranes to the Wenzhou Zhongou shipyard in China, which is building four 25,000 dwt heavy-lift vessels for SE Shipping. The vessels are due for delivery in 2010. They will be used primarily for transporting wind turbine components. SE Shipping was founded in 2007 to provide supply to the project and heavy-lift cargo market, which has seen a surfeit of demand in recent years.

The deal is worth $59 million.
