Maersk Line said it would add a vessel to the rotation of the SAMBA service, which covers the trade from East Coast South America to Middle East.

The additional ship will allow us to improve the schedule reliability and to run the vessels at an optimal speed, providing a more environmentally friendly transport due to reduced emissions. By adding a vessel, we will increase the transit time by an average of four days.

The first vessel on the new schedule will be the Maersk Jakarta with estimated arrival at the Suez Canal on Nov. 5.

The rotation of the service will be unchanged: Itajai, Paranagua, Rio Grande and Santos, Brazil; Salalah, Oman; Jebel Ali, U.A.E.; Algeciras, Spain; Dakar, Senegal; and Vitoria, Brazil.
