Port Information
The Port of Tabaco is a major port in the Bicol Region that operates primarily as converging point for passengers and products to and from Catanduanes and other nearby islands. It is also a distribution channel for Albay products. Interisland ships call at Tabaco carrying relatively large consignments of cement, fertilizer, sugar and abaca.
PORT PROFILE
Location Latitude 13o 21`N, Longitude 123o43`E situated at the southwestern part of San Miguel Bay, Albay. Entrance Channel The only navigable channel used by the vessels entering Tabaco is between the northwest end of San Miguel Island and the shoals two miles northwestward of San Miguel Point. The channel is marked by the Malinao Range. Sula Channel and Casolgan Pass which have access into Tabaco Bay are of no value to navigation except for bancas and small crafts. Turning Basin Bounded by the RC wharf, San Miguel Island and Natunawan Island. Tydal Range/Type Tabaco has semi-diurnal of tides. There is some inequality but the principal variations follow the moon’s changing phases. The mean range is 3.9 feet and the diurnal range is 4.7 feet. Access Road Two (2) access roads. Storage Facilities A concrete paved open storage area of about 3,537 sq. m. and back up area of 9,600 sq. m. Anchorage & Fairways No adequate anchorage in the bay since water is deep and sides are also steep. There is limited anchorage off the wharf. Sheltered from south and south west anchorage is open to NE monsoon. PORT SERVICES

Domestic and international long distance can also be availed of. Bunkering All grades of bunkers are available from local suppliers and delivered through road tankers. Pilotage Bicol Region Pilots' Association. (Not compulsory). Water Supply Water is delivered through pipelines or hose by the Tabaco Water District. Chandling Local shipchandlers can supply unlimited quantities of provisions and stores.
