HONG KONG Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has appointed it as Hong Kong Airlines' (HKA) official Hong Kong ground handling agent.
Hactl said in a statement that it will provide cargo terminal operation services and air cargo documentation service to Hong Kong Airlines.
As a home-based carrier, HKA aims to grow through expansion of its hub network, which is expected to expand because of rising transshipment demand.
Li Qiang, managing director of Hong Kong Airlines, said: "We choose Hactl as our key business partner at home because we believe that Hactl's expertise and high level of service standard can well cater to our needs arising from our business development and expansion."
Hactl handles 80 per cent of the general cargo at Hong Kong International Airport. By employing Hactl, HKA expects to gain a competitive advantage and be well positioned for further growth in the region.
Lilian Chan, general manager for Hactl marketing and customer service, said: "It's indeed gratifying to note the joining of Hong Kong Airlines to the big family of Hactl, signifying the final grouping of all the home-based carriers in Hong Kong under the Hactl roof."
