THE ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital has arrived in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh to conduct a two-week medical training programme sponsored and logistically supported by FedEx.

The non-profit organisation's training programme aims to improve local ophthalmic surgical techniques, nursing skills and equipment maintenance practices. The Orbis Flying Eye Hospital is the world's only airborne ophthalmic surgical and training facility housed inside a converted DC-10.

FedEx has been helping Orbis for more than 20 years by providing operational and logistical support such as ground support and the shipment of medical supplies to Orbis sites worldwide.

In addition, FedEx Express donates aircraft maintenance and equipment for the Flying Eye Hospital and FedEx Express pilots also fly Orbis' aircraft and provide training for other Orbis pilots.
