Cosco Logistics to introduce RFID tracking system

COSCO Logistics will introduce RFID solutions developed by Intermec into its distribution centres, Logistics Week reports.

The logistics arm of Cosco Group signed an agreement with RFID solutions provider Intermec in June this year with the hope of improving warehouse operation efficiency and profit by using the RFID technologies.

According to the agreement, Cosco Logistics will adopt a complete RFID product suite from Intermec including tags, vehicle mount readers, handheld readers, fixed readers, handheld computers and fixed and vehicle computers.

Forklift trucks in the distribution centres of Cosco Logistics will be installed with FRID readers and trays and cargo stacking bays will be attached with RFID tags, thus achieving visualised cargo tracing.
