Ningbo trade with US, Japan and Asean countries surges

TRADE of Ningbo with the US, Japan and Asean all surged in the first seven months of 2007, Xinhua reported.

Statistics of Ningbo customs show the trade value between Ningbo and the US surged 35.1 per cent to US$6.80 billion in the first seven months of the year. Import value rose 53.3 per cent to $1.16 billion, while export value increased 31.8 per cent to $5.64 billion.

While Ningbo-Japan trade value increased 26.6 per cent to $3.34 billion, including $1.80 billion import value, rising 39.9 per cent and $1.54 billion export value, up 13.9 per cent.

Ningbo-ASEAN trade also surged 44.09 per cent to $3.31 billion. Imports grew 21.4 per cent to $1.10 billion and exports jumped 60.3 per cent to $2.21 billion.

Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore were the top three Asean trading partners of Ningbo, the report added.
