UK container traffic rises 3pc, Felixstowe up 9pc

THE UK's usage of containers rose by three per cent in 2006, or 129,000 boxes, according to maritime statistics released by the Department of Transport.

Felixstowe, the country's top container port, handled 1.9 million TEU last year, nine per cent more than in 2005.
