The Georigan ports Supsa and Batumi that handles Caspian crude are operating at reduced levels as a result of the conflict between Georgia and Russia. Georgia also claims that Russia has attacked the world’s next longest oil pipeline, BTC (Baku-Tibilisi-Ceyhan) that with a capacity of one million barrels per day handles more than one percent of the world’s supply. Russia denies the allegation. BTC is however already damaged after a bomb attack by Kurdish PKK in the Turkish part of the pipeline. The Georgian port of Poti is completely closed after Russian air attacks.
