FOUR Danish trade unions have signed a new contract with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).
Union leaders representing the Cabin Attendants Union (CAU), civil aviation functions (LFF), Dansk Pilot Union (DPF), and Ledernes hove/Supervisors Union (LH) signed a letter addressed to SAS president and CEO Mats Jansson, explaining that they will not strike after reaching agreement with the airline.
"With the right attitude and willingness to co-operate from both sides, we are convinced about, and we dare to proceed into, a time in which we have an SAS without strikes," the unions wrote in their letter.
Mr Jansson said: "I welcome the letter as an 'outstretched hand'. It is a strong initiative and the beginning of a cultural breakthrough in the company and will result in greater stability within SAS.
"This is a first step towards a new co-operation model between SAS and our trade union organisations in Denmark."
