The Port of Tokyo, the Marine Gateway to Tokyo, is one of the Japan's leading international trade ports equipped with large-scale Container terminals and plays an important role as a distribution base not only for the immediate vicinity but also more broadly serving the entire greater Tokyo metropolitan area.

The Port of Tokyo Terminal Public Corporation has constructed anddeveloped exclusive domestic and international trade terminals taking into account the latest technological innovations in distribution, increased cargo volumes and other trends in order to assure the efficient operation of the Port and undertakes their overall management, while cooperating whih the Tokyo Metropolotan Government in the management of the Port and promoting a further expansion of activities.

The development of Rainbow Town (Waterfront Urban Subcenter) and other areas is bringing great change to the Port of Tokyo.Marine parks as well as sports and recreation facilities are being constructed on vast tracts of reclaimed land in response to the diversification of the needs of the public and their heightened awareness of the shoreline and continue to become accessible by the local citizens.

Thus, the Port of Tokyo is not only promoting the development of facilities and an environment for the funcitons of the Port as a distribution base but also those designed for public use in the Port and surrounding areas and operations relating to these activities are steadily gaining in importance.

We at the Tokyo Port Terminal Corporation will continue to cooperate with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in the management of the Port and will remain committed to making contributions to the further development and advancement of Port of Tokyo in order to open the way for anticipated future growth.
