ZHEJIANG Huzhou Port Co Ltd and Hong Kong's PYI Corp will invest HK$400 million (US$51.42 million) in the construction of Huzhou Port Xisai Operation Zone, Xinhua reported.
The 466,669-square metre operations zone, with eight 1,000 tonne berths, is expected to handle three million tonnes of cargo and 300,000 TEU containers annually, to become the largest river logistics base in Huzhou, the report said.
The Huzhou logistics base will attract cargo from neighbouring areas including northern Zhejiang, southern Anhui and Jiangsu's Yixing and deliver containers to Shanghai Yangshan port and Ningbo-Zhoushan port through rapid intermodal feeder services, the report said.
